The director of Marketing of El Corte Inglés gives an opening lesson of the School of Commerce with a conference about the current situation of retail world

The School of Commerce of the University of Valladolid has held this Tuesday the opening ceremony of the 2019-20 academic year in an event chaired by the dean of the School, José Antonio Salvador Insúa, and with the presence of the general director of Commerce and Consumption of the Council of Castile and Leon, Luis del Hoyo. The opening lecture has been taught by the director of Marketing of El Cortes Inglés, José Luis Pascual. Under the title of the conference Momentum, Pascual has spoken about the current situation of retail world in a very dynamic market which forces the companies to focus its attention in a customer active listening for anticipating their needs.

José Antonio Salvador Insúa thanked all the assistants of the business and university field for their participation and highlighted the importance of the commercial code, as well as the commercial distribution role within the commerce field as a big source of employment with present and future.

During the conference, they were more than two hundred students who attended this event and had the opportunity of listening also to the directors of Fashion and Social Networks of El Corte Inglés. Héctor García Royo, director of marketing-fashion spoke about the fundamentals of the transformation strategy of fashion and how active listening and effective communication are necessary for achieving a successful business change.
